The Girl With The Most Delicious Heart

Each year a monster calls, intending to eat your heart.

The Girl With The Most Delicious Heart imageThe Girl With The Most Delicious Heart is a solo journaling roleplaying game about being The Girl With The Most Delicious Heart.

Each year a monster calls, intending to eat your heart.

Each year you’ll write entries, gain friends, build protections and discover artefacts – all while trying not to get eaten by the monsters which come to your door.

The game guides you, with blended prose and rules, into writing your story of building a life while being hunted by monsters. On the years where a monster does not come to your door, you have a chance to enjoy a slice of life as you build the bonds that will keep you safe.

More than just a game

The Girl With The Most Delicious Heart is a standalone game, but it also has a very permissive license and a wider universe around it.

  • Anyone can remix the game and add to it.
We call these additions Heart Works.
  • People also live interesting stories using the game.
We love to read and share these Heart Lives with the world.

You can submit and share your own Heart Works and Heart lives on the submissions page.

What People Are Saying About The Girl With The Most Delicious Heart

A collection of quotes from the good and great of gaming (who have played the game!).

“A fantastic framework for constructing fables of dark fantasy, full of pathos, adventure and feminist metaphor. You can be Buffy, or Beverley Marsh, or go anywhere your delicious heart decides to take you.”

Matt Thrower, There Will Be Games

“The Girl with the Most Delicious Heart is tense, tragic, and beautiful. As a father, this game hit me harder than I expected.”

Nick Gralewicz, Deep Dark Games, (Designer of HOME and A Perfect Rock)

“The gentle glimpses of the world that the game provides are the perfect stepping stones into creating your own dark fairy tales. There’s a slant towards the melancholy, but opportunities for hope can still be found.”

Rory Muldoon, Postmark Games

A brand new D6 table of classy and high-value artefacts – that you might have to steal from a museum or a temple to get your hands on. Either way, their effects on your hunters will be terrible.

by Chris Lowry

This is a re-setting for The Girl With The Most Delicious Heart that imagines you as an isolated being on a remote moon. How did you get there? There is no monster in this game, instead the fears and insecurities that such a disconnected sentient would have. The game either ends in Death, Acceptance or a Change.

by Christopher John Eggett

A simple new mechanic for adding a faithful pet into your game. Yes, you can pet the dog. Bring a beloved pet with you on your adventure, or discover one when you’re down on your luck. They stay by your side until the end.
